Today we talk with Karen Ferry, an experienced teacher and neuropsychotherapist, who has recently released the book The Teacher’s Essential Guide to the Brain. Karen has a keen awareness of how a neurobiological understanding of children’s learning can help a teacher be more empathic and effective in the classroom. We talk about enriched environments, domestic violence, and other elements that have an impact on a child’s learning capacity.
Richard and Matthew also talk about some recent research including a Swiss study on how mobile phones may be damaging our capacity for working memory and how we can identify fake from real laughter. Dr Dave also drops in to let us know the latest from Shrink Rap Radio.
