Sarah practices an eclectic approach borrowing techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness based strategies, strengths-based approaches, and dialectical behavioral therapy in efforts to bring progress, change, and fulfillment to client’s lives.
She has broad experience in working with adolescents and adults and enjoys working with individuals in their late teens, twenties, and adulthood. She specializes in depression, grief and loss, anxiety, trauma, self-esteem, LGBTQ issues, stress-management, burnout, and surviving and leaving toxic work places or relationships.

Sarah attended the University of Texas at Austin for a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 2002 and completed her Master’s in Clinical Social Work in 2007. During graduate school she interned at UT’s Drug and Alcohol Education Program and The Center for Child Protection. She has experience working at a residential treatment center for adolescents, inpatient psychiatric hospital and partial hospitalization programs for adults, integrated behavioral health for adolescents and adults within their primary medical care setting, and outpatient individual psychotherapy. She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers.

Sarah has education and training in competencies of trauma, grief and loss, suicide and self-destructive behaviors, chronic and severe mental illness, adolescent health, cognitive behavioral treatments with emphasis on depression and anxiety, mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. She has interests and ongoing development of skills related to spirituality, the mind-body connection, nutrition and mood, acceptance and commitment therapy, depth psychology, and mindfulness based cognitive therapy.
