Maggie McKay, LPC

Maggie is a former teacher, turned counselor who specializes in working with children, teens, young adults, and families.

Maggie is trained in play therapy, filial therapy and expressive therapies. She uses art therapy, sand tray, psychodrama, music, & other creative methods to access the problem solving portions of the brain and collaboratively find solutions.

Her background in academics gives her a distinct advantage when it comes to coordinating care with school related issues. She frequently collaborates with parents, extended family, school counselor, and teachers to create lasting growth with her child clients.

Maggie has worked extensive with children as young as two years old through early adulthood. She is experienced in working with issues relating to trauma, self confidence, anxiety, depression, behavioral issues, divorce, self injury, gender identity, sexuality, and grief. Most sessions are 1.5 hours, allowing for individual time with the child, time alone with the parent, and time together as a family.

Maggie is also fluent in Spanish and offers her services, “en Espanol.”
