Dr Jack Anchin

We warmly welcome Dr Jack C. Anchin to our Board of Advisors.

Dr Anchin has been engaged in the private practice of psychotherapy for over 25 years and is Adjunct Professor of Psychology at the University at Buffalo—SUNY. He has been a leader in writing about theoretical, philosophical, empirical, and practice-related issues associated with development and application of a unifying paradigm for clinical science and psychotherapy. These unification-related foci are logical extensions of his long-standing interests in systems theory, interpersonal psychotherapy, psychotherapy integration, and philosophy of clinical psychology. His journal articles and book chapters, conference symposia, and paper presentations range across these diverse yet confluent areas of interest.

Additionally, Dr. Anchin is Co-Editor of the Handbook of Interpersonal Psychotherapy, identified as a seminal publication in the field of interpersonal theory, research, and practice. For the Journal of Psychotherapy Integration, he has served as Editor of a special double issue on brief integrative psychotherapy; Co-Editor of a special issue on the unification of psychotherapy; and is Editor of a special section on philosophy and psychotherapy integration. He is currently co-authoring the soon to be published volume Unifying Psychotherapy: Principles, Methods, and Evidence from Clinical Science.

Dr. Anchin also served on the inaugural Advisory Council of Clinician’s Research Digest: Briefings in Behavioral Science and on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Integrative and Eclectic Psychotherapy. He has also served as an Associate Editor of the Journal of Psychotherapy Integration and on the Editorial Board of Psychotherapy: Theory, Research, Practice, Training.

He is the 2011 recipient of the APA Division 29 (Psychotherapy) Distinguished Psychologist Award for contributions to psychology and psychotherapy.

With Dr. Jeffrey J. Magnavita, he is Co-Founder and Co-Editor of the electronic Journal of Unified Psychotherapy and Clinical Science.

We look forward to our working relationship with Dr Anchin and his mentorship as one of our advisors.
